Phnom Penh, Cambodia Report
by Ken Geisendorfer SOC Director
Praise God for His faithfulness to Cambodia. In the month of September 2009 we graduated 65 students from all parts of Cambodia in the first School of Christ in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. As I climbed the steps of the 5- story building to the classroom on the 5th floor I knew that the spiritual ground was going to plow hard. The interpreter was a young man 24 years old and spoke English for only 4 years. As we started, he was always trying to tell me how things work in Cambodia. For example, he said, "Use the word Holy Spirit not Holy Ghost or this is how we do this or that." After one day of that, I told him that we come here with the agenda of heaven and this is how it works. You say what I say, nothing more or nothing less.
On the third day, the first lesson after lunch, I preached the lesson true repentance and for 45 minutes we plowed and after the lesson I told the class to stand and worship the Lord. I looked at my interpreter and he was weeping uncontrollably. I asked him what was wrong and he said that he had not truly repented. God had broken him during that lesson and now that young man could understand what I had been telling him about the agenda of heaven. As we talked for 10-15 minutes, he was so broken and said we need to do this lesson again because the students didn't hear it. After we stood up and did the lesson of true repentance the second time, there was a spirit; of true repentance. God had broken through.
I am always amazed how God uses the School of Christ. No matter where you take the school, it will work.
In Isaiah 6:11, 12, 13 ~ Isaiah asked the Lord how long do I preach the Gospel and God said until every city is turned upside down and every jungle is gone through, every house entered, every closet opened; until every square inch of this planet has heard the true Gospel of Christ. God has given us the tool to finish the task.
Please pray for the School of Christ in Cambodia.
In Christ,
Pastor Ken Geisendorfer
