Hungary Update

Last four months were very joyful times for SOC Hungary. Like harvest season. Let me share some good news about it.

1. Courses in Evangelical Friendship Churches

This is a network of smaller churches. They have planted some new churches during last ten years. The president is rev. Antal Frei a good friend of mine. He has heard about SOC last year and decided to do it in their churches. I opened courses in January and they finished courses on six locations at the end of April. I went to the closing meeting into the central church in Tolna on 2nd of May. You can see the pictures of the groups of graduated students, alltogether forty students. Many of them came from gipsy background. Praise God for these wonderful people!

2. Jaszbereny

Church of Jaszsag is a charismatic church 70 km East of Budapest. Pastor Istvan Nagy met with SOC last June and he took the course with his wife Erika during last autumn at their home. Then an elder from this church, Zoltan Katona came to the intensive course last November. After that they started the SOC course in the church. Every Sunday morning nine people plus pastor and elder gethered together, took the course and finished it on 9th of May 2010. I went to the church on 16th May, preached there and at the end of meeting I gave Certificate of Graduation for them. By this occasion pastor Istvan and Erika received their Certificate, too.

3. SOC Conference

First hungarian SOC Conference has been held in the Isaszeg Pentecostal Church at 18-19 March 2010. Pastor Lee Shipp was the speaker and we had got close to 70 attandences. These days were excellent times in presence of the Lord. There were two students who have already finished SOC course, but haven' received their Certificates.

Pastor Attila Hollo is the first person who finished SOC from Serbia. He is pastor of a small hungarian speaking church in the town Ada. He spent six hours a day for 21 days to complete all the dvd series.

Young sister Hajnalka Arlett came from Zalaegerszeg. She has started SOC with the group of her church last september. But unfortunatelly she became ill and had to brake course... After her recovering she continued and finished it under overseeing of pastor Ferenc Orban who has led the course int he church.

Both of them came to the SOC Conference and there were non of obstacle to receive their Certificates. It was good encourage for those who want to start SOC in the future.
