News from Europe
"...and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. Who when he came, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord." (Acts 11:22-24)
During the first week of September Brother Clendennen flew in from Armenia to join us for the first School held in the valleys of Wales. These valleys once saturated with the glory and presence of God (whose testimony of revival has filled the earth) now lie in darkness and cruelty. A number of key Pentecostal British pioneers were either saved or raised up amidst the revival of 1904, and went forth pioneering churches across Wales, Ireland, England and Scotland. They saw a harvest of souls, the sick healed and men filled with the Holy Ghost and fire. But now these same valleys are filled with drugs, drink, immorality and atheism.
Churches are mostly small and often weary. It is normal to see churches that were filled with people and glory, now used as garages or closed. Obviously Satan having seen the extent of an outpouring of the Spirit in these valleys, in fear has taken a very strong hold upon these communities. It was right here that we held the first meetings where a new Pentecost is so badly needed. When Brother Clendennen arrived already the believers were being broken, stirred and prepared under the Word of God. Hearts long dulled were now being awakened, hope was replacing hopelessness and prayer was being made a way of life. At the end of the week the first Welsh students who have gone through the School graduated on Welsh soil. One Pastor stood and testified of the transformation in his own life and church since the teaching of the school had turned him around. Another leader in the local church sat and wept as God renewed lost vision and desire. This is merely a start for the school in Wales.
Next we travelled to Belfast in Northern Ireland, where God has been constantly stirring the hearts of a number of pastors, preachers and believers over the past two years. Again Brother Clendennen and the Word of God were gladly received. As our Brother preached powerfully one morning on the woman who broke the alabaster box, great conviction and desire fell on the meeting. We rounded up the meetings in Lisburn Elim church, where Elim Pastors and a number of independent pastors gathered to hear messages on "The Preacher". God is increasingly using the school and preachers working with the school to touch, challenge and unite the hearts of leaders not in organizations, denominations or fraternals, but in a common bond of seeing the church made holy, Spirit filled and directed, effectual in fulfilling the great commission, fervent in prayer and prepared for the coming of the Lord. May God keep us faithful in being a friend of the Bridegroom. We are prayerfully preparing to hold regular full schools here in response to the many requests from those hungry for revival.
From here we travelled to Dublin in Southern Ireland. This city once bound by religion is now more bound by drink and drugs; the suicide rate is high and the need great. We held meetings in the Apostolic church, and in attendance were leaders from AOG, Elim and Independent churches. There has maybe never been a time when Ireland was so open, now is the time to strike for the Kingdom of God. Leaders here are recognizing the need for solid teaching and are looking at how they can incorporate the school into there local churches or to use it to touch there leaders. This land needs preachers and leaders raised up quickly and strongly.
During the meetings in these three countries, many have approached us concerning the need to take the school into England, Albania, Malaysia, Scotland, Lebanon and France. One morning Brother Clendennen sat with a young Albanian couple and talked about bringing the school to there land, city and leaders. Great excitement filled the room at the expectation of reaching into this once self proclaimed first totally atheistic country in the world. The fields are white, the labourers are few, hell is burning, the church sleeping. It's time for us to hear the word of God, awake from our sleep, put on righteousness and to reach this world with the Gospel.
