Sao Paulo, Brazil Report

by Brian Larsen   SOC Director

Sao Paulo School of Christ We began the School on March 2, 2010 with a little more than 120 students and 90% were head pastors over several churches. Many older pastors, that were students, shared with us their need to once again hear the Word of God preached in such a pure form and how the church has gone so far from the true Gospel.

It was a blessing that the church was able to transmit the morning classes via internet and the response was great. I believe God allowed us to touch a central core of people and it was a blessing to witness the message dealing with the students as it always does. Praise God that the power (the Anointing of the Holy Spirit) behind the message never changes! As in every class, I know that eternity will reveal the fruits of this great labor. I thank the Lord for this special opportunity that He allowed and know that it was not in vain.

Varzea Paulista, Sao Paulo – Brazil – April 2010

Varzea Paulista, Brazil School of Christ We experienced a great move of God in Varzea Paulista, which was in fact a true revival. We have now run four schools in this church, and many of the former students are living the message they preached one more time, living a restored life and ministry. Signs of revival are visible, such as the signs of the baptism in the Holy Ghost, confession of sins, repentance, and a life and ministry being changed. To Christ be the Glory!

This school demonstrated something unique and different form the other schools. The leaders that sent students encouraged them not to look at the School of Christ as one more seminary, or just one more Bible school, but to see it as a restoration of the spiritual vision that had been lost through their religious lives. Most of the leaders of these students had already gone through the School of Christ as students themselves, and most of them had evidently put to practice what they learned.

I noticed that the churches where former students of the School of Christ are pastoring are really on fire for God. The messages on the Blood and the Cross are being preached again in those pulpits and God has been pouring out His Spirit. As the lessons of the school were being taught, the effect of the Word in the lives of the students was so evident and powerful, that many used their personal time to repent, pray, and seek God.

As decided by the church's leadership, we had a 24-hour period time for fasting, once every week. The church was invited and its leadership to participate in the classes during those fasting days and the Lord led the pastor president (Alberto Rezende) to close all regular activities in the church's offices so that all the ministers and their wives could participate and share those times in the Word of God and prayer. The hand of God was upon us! It was wonderful times together with the students and the ministers.
