Suriname Update
by Rodney Jaggernauth SOC Field Worker
At my last visit to Suriname in September 2010, a lady got out of a wheel chair and walked after being in it for seven years. That was great, but not greater than what my eyes are beholding, a great spiritual awareness to holiness is arising in the church because of School of Christ.
The Devil has deceived many to compromise the word of God just to keep people in the church; to leave members and leaders to live careless lifestyles, young girls defiling themselves with young men in the church, men and women living together under the same roof who are not yet married but holds position in the church. But through the School of Christ, they recognized that it is Sin. I'm happy to say in this school life came from the holy spirit, and the river of living waters began to flow and whatever or whosoever the river touches it was healed and new life came forth. Twelve persons, who lived together unmarried, made decisions to do what's right before the Lord, consider to get married.
Physical healing is important but for this school it was more of a holiness revival taking place. Souls came to know the Lord in a personal way and holiness was the main focus of the people. Because of our last school in 2010, the testimonies spread that life is coming to Suriname in September 2011. We began the school on Monday 29th August with sixty-five students from across Suriname. As Pastor Clendennen used to say, if you're not called you'd go home. Only fifty-five of the sixty-five endured till the end. With these graduates there's a revival of holiness, men and women coming into contact with the Holy Spirit recognizing that they are not holy, Hebrews said "for without holiness no man shall see God".
They heard the word in the school of Christ, that the priority for ministry and walking with the Holy Spirit is Purity, Prayer, Power and then praise. Many thought they were praying but through the teachings they recognize Purity comes before Prayer, they were praying but was not pure.
The Pastors were rejoicing for the message of the School of Christ, they realize now; why the world was snatching their young people, why there was so much unbelief in the church, why their sick won't be healed. They understand sin and compromise was hindering God from moving in their midst.
Thank God for you the School of Christ, for taking the challenge to translate the school in the Surinamese language. Thank God for Pastor Aubry Tyler for his dedication and devotion that I can be sent to carry this school to the Surinamese people. If the Lord will, my next visit will be to the far interiors of Suriname and to Guyana to meet with the Amerindians, Bush Creoles and the villagers with this great and powerful tool, the School of Christ.
Yours in Christ,
Rodney Jaggernauth
